This year our Summer Day Camp for children will take place Tuesday, July 20th through Thursday, July 22nd, from 2-5pm. It will be run by volunteers and filled with fun, educational activities that support Unitarian Universalist values, including creative activities and scientific exploration. All children registered by July 15 will be provided with a t-shirt that they will tie dye on the first day of camp (Tuesday). We plan to be outdoors as much as possible. When indoors children will either be spaced out for social distancing or required to wear masks. A snack will be provided each day.

Camp is free to all participants. There is a limit of 20 participants overall in order to ensure a proper adult-child ratio. Children who have recently completed kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, 4th grade or 5th grade are invited to register. All children must be sponsored by a current, active Berrien UU Fellowship adult member or friend; however, they do not need to regularly attend the fellowship.

Please send children to camp in casual clothing and comfortable sneakers. Children will be painting and playing outdoors, so clothing may get dirty or stained. Feel free to send a smock to cover clothes while painting. At Berrien UU Fellowship, we respect the inherit worth and dignity of every individual and will honor this in all camp activities and with all camp participants. Please note that violence and bullying will not be tolerated. In addition, we prohibit harassment on the basis of gender and sexual orientation, race, national origin, religion, disability or any other protected status.

Thank you for your interest in summer day camp! Please contact Joanne Krettek at office@berrienuu.org with questions or if you would like to volunteer. A fellowship member will reach out to confirm your child’s (or children’s) registration and supply camp details.
