Green Sanctuary and Community Outreach & Social Action Committees: Fresh Start Children’s Garden Project
Wednesday, August 10 @ 7pm (and every Wednesday)
BUUF through the Green Sanctuary Committee and the Community Outreach & Social Action (CO/SA) Committee has agreed to provide volunteers to assist with the Fresh Start Children’s Garden in Benton Harbor. The neighborhood children’s garden has been led by Emma Kinnard for 10 years. The garden is located at the corner of May and Pearl Streets in Benton Harbor (1104 Pearl Street). The garden has been planted and volunteers are needed to weed and lay fabric and hay between vegetable rows. Come for 5 minutes or come for an hour, but come see the beautiful garden and visit even if you are not able to assist. This event is weekly.
All are also welcome every Thursday from 5-7 to assist neighborhood children in harvesting vegetables.

BUUF End of Summer Picnic
August 28, 2016 @ 10:30am
It is almost time for our yearly End of Summer Picnic! This event allows members to connect with each other and to get ready for the upcoming new Liturgical year. Friends of members are certainly welcome and encouraged to come for some fun in the sun! This event will be a potluck.
This event will include “Circle Talk” of what our summers have been like, a couple of inter generational games.
Stay tuned for more details on this event! It is sure to be full of fun, sun, food and fellowship!
**Emily Bettencourt is the organizer for this event. Please send her an email at embett42@gmail.com with the dish you are planning to bring. Also, during the games we’ll need 1-2 people to do the grilling so it’s ready by 12 noon. We are also looking for a kind volunteer to lend BUUF their grill for the day. **
Volunteers Needed!
Volunteers are needed to mow BUUF’s grass with our new, state-of-the-art,solar powered electric mower! What a treat! A sign up sheet will be posted in the Fuller Fellowship Hall for those willing to donate an hour (the battery only lasts that long) of their time to mow our grounds.
Harvey Johnson is happy to answer any questions about the lawn, the mower, the grounds of BUUF, and life in general.
