This Sunday, July 25th, the theme of our service is Weaving the Fabric of Our Lives/We Make Ourselves. In his message, Rev. Jim McConnell will investigate how we can learn to overcome our circumstances and become the creators of our own lives.  Additionally, the Summer Camp young ones will be helping out in the service and displaying some of their projects, Marilyn Klawiter will officiate for our monthly Fabric of Life Ceremony, and the BUUF Musicians will have lots of great music.
See you there.
Note: We will continue distributing the Order of Service via email. This will ensure both BUUFers at home and those returning in person will receive a copy. It will also save trees since we won’t be printing multiple copies. You may want to bring your cell phone so you can easily pull up the Order of Service while participating in person.

Ethical Eating Group "Salad Supper" @ Berrien Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
There will be an Ethical Eating Group “salad supper” on Thursday evening July 29th at 6:30 pm at BUUF. Kids are welcome. Please bring a vegetarian or vegan salad that will serve 6-8 people and your beverage. Donations of dessert, fruit, crackers or bread will also be welcome.
We hope to start meeting monthly to get acquainted, share ideas related to our own diet choices and look at what is happening “good”  and “not so good” in the food world around us.
Please bring a calendar and ideas for an outing/get together in August.
If we all want to eat outside…..bring insect spray……a comfy chair if you prefer…..or a blanket to sit on the ground.
If you are Covid uncomfortable eating shared food, that is perfectly ok. Bring your own meal for the evening. And of course, masks are still welcome.

Sunday Service: "Change Happens" @ Berrien Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
This Sunday, August 1st, the focus of the service is transition and change. Sometimes we want it. Sometimes we fear it. Whether we want it or fear, it almost always makes us uncomfortable.
Rev. Jim McConnell’s sermon is titled, “Change Happens.” In it he will talk about finding the emotional wherewithal to make the changes we need to make and the courage to endure the difficult changes that life sometimes has for us.  Additionally, Dick Berndt will have a reading on his perspective on transition and change, the Lorenz family will read the Story for All Ages, Vicki Thomas Dwyer will do our chalice work , and The BUUF Musicians will bring us more great music.  See you Sunday.
Note: We will continue distributing the Order of Service via email. This will ensure both BUUFers at home and those returning in person will receive a copy. Prepare and Serve Lunch at Benton Harbor Soup Kitchen @ Benton Harbor Soup Kitchen
Aug 7 @ 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

Berrien UU  Fellowship serves lunch at the Benton Harbor Soup Kitchen the first Saturday of every even-numbered month (February, April, June, August, October and December). Berrien UU volunteers prepare the meal, greet guests and help clean up the kitchen. This is a terrific opportunity to serve the greater community, support our Social Justice mission and enjoy the company of fellow BUUFers and guests at the kitchen. Rev. Jim McConnell generously leads the group in planning the meal and dessert and he will gladly find a role for all volunteers, whether they’ve helped dozens of times or this is their first time. Please consider coming to the Soup Kitchen to help, even if it’s only for an hour or two.

The Soup Kitchen is located at 233 Michigan Street in Benton Harbor.
