Sunday Service: "What Should UUs Do About Christmas?" @ Berrien Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
This Sunday, December 16th, we tackle the problem of: “What Should UUs Do About Christmas?”
Many UUs see the story of the baby God born in a stable and placed in a manger to be a little antiquated and maybe something that is okay for children but not really something that a modern, rational adult can use in his or her spiritual life.
In his sermon, Rev. Jim McConnell will address the place of Christmas in the spiritual lives of UUs. Keely Adams and Connie DeGraaf will talk about what they do for Christmas, and Jim Dagleish will sing his famous: “Have a Unitarian Universalist Christmas.” The BUUF Musicians will bring us some seasonal music, Gretchen Ohmann will lead us in Feliz Navidad, and Harvey Johnson will lead us in song. Joan Guilfoyle will tell the Story for All Ages, Candace Onweller will be at the piano, and Dorothy Long will sit in the Poet’s Corner. Additionally, the congregation will sing some Christmas songs to get us all in the spirit of Christmas…a Unitarian Universalist Christmas. Beth La Fleur will lead the RE class for children.
If you are feeling a little “Grinchy” about all the demands that come with this time of year, this service will be a spirit lifter.
The BUUF Musicians will rehearse before the service beginning at 9:30 AM. After the service, Harvey Johnson will lead a Sunday Services Committee meeting to plan the service topics for the first half of 2019. All are invited to attend.
See you Sunday!
