Sunday Service: "Social Justice Day" @ Zoom Meeting
This Sunday May 17th is Social Justice Day. In his sermon, “How to be a Giant Pain in the……,” Rev. Jim McConnell will explore the dynamics of how social justice begins by telling the truth to yourself and others. When we lie or deny we become hollowed out people who lose our ability to tell the truth from a lie. This makes us susceptible to being docile participants in immoral systems that oppress, exploit and murder. We will look at the lives of some people who have been successful pains-in-the-……, such as Martin Luther King Jr., Greta Thunberg, Rev. William Barber, and Malala. Additionally, Harvey Johnson, Larry Feldman, and Charles Long will talk about their own thoughts and experiences working for social justice. Joan Guilfoyle will bring us the Story for All Ages, the BUUF Musicians will have some great Music, and Nico Rojas and Lisa Fuller will make our Zoom service visually pleasing. See you Sunday.
The Zoom link, Meeting ID and password will be sent out on Saturday with the emailed Order of Service. Please check your inbox! If you don’t receive the Order of Service by end of day Saturday, please email Joanne Krettek at office@berrienuu.org or call her at 269-612-8886.
