This Sunday, March 13th, we will be addressing the question: “What does Standing on the Side of Love mean in times of war?” To help us in our discussion, Dave Sarra, long time member of BUUF and conscientious objector during the Vietnam era and Dr. Ronald Barker who served as a artillery officer in Vietnam will talk about the challenges they faced as they chose how to participate in that war. They will also share their opinions about what our involvement should be as a country and as individuals in the current conflict in Ukraine. Additionally, Joanne Krettek has a really great story for the kids about the world’s refugee crisis. After the story, Joanne and Terry Sundstrom will lead an RE class for the children.
Beth LaFleur and the BUUF Musicians will have more great inspirational music. During the service a collection will be taken to help the nearly one and a half million refugees that have already fled Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression. This is an important and timely topic, something we are all struggling with. Come in person or join by Zoom. Bring money for the special collection, if you can. The kids are also invited to participate in the collection.
