This Sunday October 3rd is a special Intergenerational service (for both children and adults). We will be examining the life of Gandhi and how he influenced the way we think about non-violent protest.
Mohandas Gandhi, also known as the Mahatma (“Great Soul”), was born on October 2, 1869, in India. He was a leader of the non-violent protest movement and instrumental in achieving India’s eventual independence from Great Britain. Gandhi’s birthday is celebrated as a national holiday in India and, worldwide, as the International Day of Non-Violence.
Our examination will be through the lens of Our First UU Principle: The Inherent Worth and Dignity of All People. It is an interactive service in which we will be making our own individual placards concerning issues we care about. We have the supplies. You can bring the artfulness. If you are a grandparent an aunt or an uncle, bring your young one.
