Sunday Service: "In Remembrance of Mary Oliver" @ Berrien Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
If Unitarian Universalism had a poet laureate, it would be Mary Oliver. Mary died recently at the age of 83. Her poetry inspired two generations of UUs to grab hold of life and live it with joy in spite of all the unknowns and all our flaws. She reminded us that there is something ‘wild, wonderful’, and precious about our lives and that to really be alive we need to follow what we love. This Sunday, March 3rd, we are going to celebrate Mary’s Life.
Tina Eberly will teach the RE class for children on “Beauty in Nature.” Following the service, we’ll enjoy our first-Sunday-of the-month Potluck! Bring a dish to pass, or just bring your appetite. Not everyone brings a dish every time, but everyone is encouraged to enjoy the food and fellowship.
Two important meetings are scheduled following the potluck. From Noon to 1 PM, Dave Sarra will lead our Anniversary Celebration Planning Session. Then from 1 PM to 2:30 PM, Lisa Fuller and Harvey Johnson will lead the fellowship in a Congregational Budget Meeting to determine priorities for our next fiscal year (July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020).
Come, take part in this special service, our potluck lunch and special congregational meetings.
