Sunday Service: "Earth Energy: Receiving Spiritual Energy from Nature and the Earth" @ Berrien Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
In the old Paleolithic religion of Animism, which was universally practiced by our ancestors and is still practiced by many peoples today, it was thought that the Earth and all its creatures, including humans, existed in a state of constant communion and communication. This Sunday we will investigate how Quantum Physics has caused some scientists and theologians to give Animism a second look. Maybe we have forgotten how to tune ourselves into the messages that the Earth is sending us. Maybe there is a rich treasure trove of Spirit available to us that can help us solve some of our planet’s most difficult problems such as Global Warming, Political Division, and Uneven Distribution of Wealth. Rev. Jim McConnell’s sermon is titled “Earth Energy: Receiving Spiritual Energy from Nature and the Earth.”
Candace will be on the Piano, the BUUF Musicians will bring us some very special music, Harvey Johnson and Linda Lobik will share their thoughts on Nature and Energy, Dorothy Long will bring a poem, and Candace Onweller will tell the Story for all Ages. Lisa Fuller will be teaching the RE class for children on “Beauty in Nature.”
See you Sunday!
