Community Conversations: Wednesday, September 25, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm.

Community Conversations is a meaningful, respectful discussion focused on a topic that impacts our entire Southwest Michigan community. Typically the discussion follows a brief live or recorded presentation on the chosen topic. While this event is sponsored monthly by Berrien UU Fellowship, it is open to the entire community, and all participants are encouraged to contribute their perspective and understanding while learning from the contributions of others. The topic for this month’s Community Conversations is Cultural Despair & Inspiration: how our society is in a state of despair, how those feelings signify a deep cultural shift & some inspiration for moving forward.

In Times Square a motorcycle backfired & caused a massive panic. Our cultural temperature is one of fear & despair. Join us for a unique Community Conversations. We’ll take time to air the truth of our cultural feelings and listen to excerpts from a conversation with two people & their thoughts on change. Our discomfort and our grappling is not a sign of failure, it’s a sign that we’re living at the edge of our imaginations. We get to choose how we’re going to be together as the human family…The work of deep cultural shift is the conversations we choose to have and the stories that we tell each other. It will be an evening of truth & inspiration.
