Joys and Sorrows

---

Welcome to Claude, Dena, Chris, Jim, and related family members who visited our fellowship on Sunday. We hope to see you again soon!

Our talented pianist, Candace Onweller, returned to her role on Sunday less than two weeks after her hip replacement surgery. We're glad she's recovering well and grateful for her dedication!

Many thanks to Bridget Lorenz, who read the Story for All Ages on Sunday and taught both levels of RE, as our other RE teachers were under the weather.

Officer Administrator Joanne Krettek and her husband Terry Sundstrom and daughter Lois enjoyed two weeks with family over the holidays in Las Vegas. Thanks to all who helped with administration while we were away, including Lisa Fuller who sent out a special announcement regarding the Christmas Eve service and those who created and/or printed the Sunday service bulletins, checked the mail, and more.

Lois Sundstrom, who is a Daisy Girl Scout, will be selling Girl Scout cookies starting this Sunday through early March. You are invited to place an order for thin mints, caramel deLites, peanut butter patties and other favorites or buy boxes to donate to the Benton Harbor Soup Kitchen or military. Oh, and don't forget to ask Lois to share her vacation photos. She took lots on her Kindle and is anxious to share them!

To share your joys and sorrows with the larger BUUF community send an email to Office@BerrienUU.org or contact Rev. Jim McConnell at Minister@BerrienUU.org or 574-229-6536.

Sunday Service: "Thresholds of Consciousness: War and Peace"

Sunday Service: "Thresholds of Consciousness:
War and Peace"

January 12,
10:30am - 11:30am

This Sunday, January 12th, the theme of the service will be violence and the Human Spirit. Rev. Jim McConnell’s sermon is titled: “Thresholds of Consciousness: War and Peace.” In his message, Jim will examine the dynamics of the Human Spirit that can lead us into war, destruction, and evil. And where we can find hope for our society which relies too much on violence. Additionally, Marylou Elson will bring us a poem, readers Hunter Leggitt and Betty Adams will share their thoughts, the BUUF Musicians will do their usual magic, and there will be a Story for All Ages.

There will be a BUUF board meeting prior to the service at 9:00 AM and a BUUF Musicians Rehearsal at 9:30 AM.
