Sunday Service: "Women at Work" and "Blessing of the Backpacks"

Sunday Service: "Women at Work"

September 2, 10:30am - 11:30am

This Sunday, September 2nd is a triple-header at BUUF:

1.) At 10:30 we will have our regular worship hour, titled “Women at Work,”  featuring Tracie Crenshaw, Marilyn Klawiter, Kim Meyers, and Gretchen Ohmann speaking about the struggles, triumphs and spirituality of their work. Rev. Jim McConnell will have a short homily titled, “What’s in Your Backpack?” and the BUUF Singers will bring us some special music.

2.) During the service we are going to have our first-ever Blessing of the Backpacks. Moms and Dads, bring your little ones and their backpacks for this special ceremony.

3.) When the service is over we will be heading out to the Crenshaw farm (912 Nichols Road, Benton Harbor) for the annual BUUF potluck picnic. Come and enjoy some good food, great conversation, and a chance to become acquainted with Tracie, Vanessa, and Daphne’s pet animals.

For the picnic please bring a dish to share, a chair, a plate and utensils, and a hearty appetite.  Drinks will be provided.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Our Grass is Growing and It Needs Mowing!

Please help with keeping BUUF's lawn trimmed, tidy and inviting to all. There is a sign-up sheet in the kitchen area for each week this summer. Several members have already volunteered but more are needed. Trimming the lawn is easy and relaxing using BUUF's electric-powered, rechargeable, self-propelled mower. If you're not sure how to work the mower, just ask Harvey Johnson, our Green Sanctuary Committee Chair, for a brief lesson!

Thank you, Harvey Johnson (Green Sanctuary Committee Chair)
