OUR PHILOSOPHY OF RELIGION
Everybody is welcome at Berrien Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. We have no creed. We have a covenant in which we promise to be faithful and supportive of each other in our individual spiritual quests. It makes no difference whether one is liberal, conservative, gay, straight, transgender, Christian, Pagan, or Religious Atheist. We honor the search for meaning. In community we find a source of strength in the hard times and a place to celebrate the joys of living. We learn together how to listen to the voice of the spirit, as it speaks to each one of us. Berrien UU is a place where one can truly find one’s spiritual anchor. Our worship services draw from many sources of wisdom: The traditional religions (Christianity, Paganism, Taoism, Buddhism, etc), philosophy, modern psychology, the religions of indigenous peoples, earth wisdom, and the Spirit of Life as it manifests in community.

COMMUNITY
WHAT WE DO
We covenant to provide a caring community that nurtures and respects the worth and dignity of each person, recognizes the interdependence of all living things, supports the individual in the search for spirituality and the exploration of the mysteries of life, and extends itself into the world in which we live.

WHO WE ARE
“Love is the spirit of this church, and service is our law; this is our great covenant: to dwell together in peace, to seek the truth in love, and to help one another.”
-James Vila Blake, 1894
