Dear Members and Friends,

June is the month of endings and beginnings. Students have just been graduated from our colleges and universities with great fanfare and joy. For them it is the beginning of responsible adulthood. June is also the month of weddings. When two people have found joy in each other, they make a lifetime commitment, a whole new adventure. Each ending and each beginning, in addition to carrying great joy, also carries with it the serious responsibility of making their new lives really work by choosing to live for something greater than self. This is the beginning of spiritual maturity.

Part of the joy of these celebrations is music.

I send my congratulations to any high school or college graduates. To all of these young graduates, I send joy and best wishes.

June is also the time of the blooming flowers and ripening fruits. We welcome strawberries and blueberries. I am now enjoying blueberry ice cream and I am looking forward to my first Michigan strawberries. But above all, I am anxious to see my friends at BUUF.

I recently have had the great joy of welcoming another great-granddaughter, Mia. We are rejoicing in this new addition to our family. Mia and parents and my daughter, Rachel, will be joining me in Sawyer. Spring has been a time of great joy for me, and I hope that this month of June is full of joy and happiness for all of you.

Love,

Viola
