Lake Effect Pride. It’s a pride thing. It’s a history thing. It honors the start of the LGBT+ movement. We were born from Stonewall.
Each year the OutCenter sets aside a night like most LGBT+ communities do across the Country to honor the spark that lit the fire for LGBT+ Equality. Some do parades, some do programs, some do parties.
The OutCenter calls the LGBT+ community and our allies together every year to remember and to rekindle the move forward. This year it’s July 29.
We do this to honor – those who have worked hard to create more inclusive and just “communities that care.”
We do this to educate – ourselves and each other about the work that still needs to be done.
We do this to celebrate – to join with you as we move together toward a more equal Southwest Michigan.
