Many organized religions ask members to tithe 10% of their annual income to the church. Unitarian Universalists often provide financial support not just to their church, but also to other organizations that do work that matches their values.  For that reason, member donations to UU churches is usually less than 10% of their annual income.  My family chooses to donate 2% of our annual income to support the good work of this Fellowship, which is described in the Berrien UU mission:  “For every individual searching for spiritual meaning, Berrien UU Fellowship provides a welcoming and caring religious community dedicated to diversity of thought, social and environmental justice, and peace for all.”  Because it is important to me that a religious community dedicated to diversity of thought, social and environmental justice, and peace for all is available in our community, I support it financially.  I hope you’ll join me in providing financial support for our welcoming and caring religious community so that Berrien UU continues to be an option for every individual searching for spiritual meaning.
