Sunday, May 15 at 10:30am

This Sunday Service will feature Emma Kinnard, Director of the Fresh Start Children’s Garden in Benton Harbor, who will provide a presentation titled “How to grow a community garden”. Emma has operated the Fresh Start Children’s Garden at 1104 Pearl St. in Benton Harbor for 10 years teaching neighborhood children how to grow healthy vegetables. BUUF will be partnering with the gardening project as one of our environmental justice actions for 2016. BUUF is working on becoming a Green Sanctuary. Please join us for fellowship and refreshments.

State of the Fellowship: Part 2 is on Sunday, May 15, 12:30pm-2:30pm at BUUF.  We will review outcomes of SOF: Part 1 and begin 5-year visioning project.  Everyone is invited to participate. Attendance at Part 1 is not required for participation in Part 2.

April’s Choice is Having Our Say: the Delany Sisters First 100 Years by Sarah Delany.

Thinking ahead – the group would like to discuss Alexander Hamilton by Chernow but due to the length and weight of this material we are deferring this for a few months to give everyone a chance to get this book and work their way through it. Start now!

Planning Ahead

Senior Brunch is on Wednesday, May 18, 11:00am-1pm

BUUF Annual Meeting is on June 5 @10:30 AM, with a potluck afterward. Our Annual Meeting will include an opportunity to vote on next year’s budget, CO/SA projects, and special requests. Members eligible to vote at the Annual Meeting will have signed the membership book and made a financial or in-kind contribution to BUUF for the current fiscal year.  Deadline for voting member status is May 5.

Volunteers Needed!

Volunteers are needed to present/lead for SUMMER BUUF Sunday Services. Our summer services are more informal, often in a circle and without music accompanist.  All topics are encouraged that tie to our 7 Principals and are respectful of others.  A sign-up schedule will be posted in the Fuller Fellowship Hall.

*There will be no service on Labor Day weekend Sunday, Sept. 4.

If you have any questions, please contact a Sunday Service Committee Member (Dennis, Renee, Harvey, Julie).

Volunteers are also needed to mow BUUF’s grass with our new, state-of-the-art,solar powered electric mower! What a treat! A sign up sheet will be posted in the Fuller Fellowship Hall for those willing to donate an hour (the battery only lasts that long) of their time to mow our grounds.
