Sunday Service: Transcendentalism

June 10, 10:30am – 11:30am

A great hero of our Unitarian Universalist religion is Ralph Waldo Emerson.  Emerson was a founder of the late 19th century Transcendentalist movement.  His ideas have become an important part of the cultural fabric of our UU religion and of American society.  He believed that the “Self” is sacred and that in knowing ourselves we know the divine.  This Sunday, June 10th, we will explore ways Emerson’s thought can shed light on some of the challenges we currently face at BUUF.   We will also examine a spiritual practice that can be very useful in helping us meet the demands of our daily lives and facilitate spiritual growth.

Jim McConnell will lead the service. Beth La Fleur will conduct the Religious Education class for children, as they continue to create artwork for our June 24 Summer Solstice Celebration.

Come, bring a friend, and Transcend!!
